Tasting at Haskell.
What a nice day at Haskell (Dombeya). We have been very lucky to be the first ones to reply to attend the Cab Sav tasting with the wine maker. We tasted the different barrel samples of the Merlot first all 2009 , then Cab Sav, and then blends. Then a mystery bottle of Cabernet that was absolutely mind blowing. When revealed it was a 1999 Paul Cluver Cabernet. What a good wine ten years down the line. We had lunch and Diana had Catch of the day fish and I had Moroccan lamb shank with Dombeya Bordeaux blend, it worked well with both meals. What a lovely place to have a meal.Sunday, July 18, 2010

Wine tasting at Signal Hill.
What a wonderfull tasting , it was rather a history lesson on world wines than just a tasting. We arrived and have had a couple of his wines. We paid for the entry level tasting and got one of the most wonderfull tastings. This man is realy passionate about what he is doing. Webought a bottle of his Bubbly that he degorged out on the pavement and recapped for us to drink at home. His red wines was realy some thing to write home about. We also bought a bottle of his 2006 Pinot Noir. He also sell wine by the glass, what a place to go for a glass during lunch. Shortmarket street Heritage Square. That is his address ,and the new bus run past here. Go and try it.
